Tikkurilan Judokat Ry
Introduction
Tikkurilan Judokat is a judo club based in Eastern Vantaa, Finland. Our practice facilities are located in city districts of Tikkurila and Hakunila. You can find the location of our dojos here.
The club was founded in 1976 so we have almost half a century of experience in practicing and promoting judo in our area. Throughout the past decades the club has built it's identity as "an all-around judo club". At our club, everyone can easily find their proper training groups or courses, from small children up to the elderly, and from athletes to those who are interested in judo from a health and fitness perspective. While our main focus is on the education and training of young people, we still take pride in also providing opportunities for older people to join the world of martial arts. We also take pride in the long lasting tradition of providing opportunities to practice judo for people with special needs. Our club has not faced any shortage of athletic success either. Our top athletes have continued to win medals in national championships in all age categories and have also represented Finland in various international tournaments including the European and World Championships over the years. We have also been able to organize a few international judo events in the past ten years: in the years 2016 (European Judo Cadet Championships) and 2019 (European Judo Junior Championships) we formed the local organizing committee in games hosted here in Vantaa, Finland.
